What’s on at Goryu right now?
Autumn in Hakuba Goryu
As September arrives, Hakuba Goryu Alpine Botanical Garden is beginning to show its autumn colors. Around the summit station at 1,515m elevation, the alpine plants that bloomed vibrantly throughout summer are gradually settling into deeper, richer autumn hues.
From now through October, the beautiful fall foliage season begins. Against the backdrop of Hakuba's majestic mountains, vibrant reds, golden yellows, and deep evergreen create a stunning contrast—truly nature's own masterpiece.
Hiking and trekking during the autumn foliage season is highly recommended. Walking through the crisp autumn air while enjoying the colorful mountain vistas will refresh both body and soul.
Temperatures drop significantly in the morning and evening, sometimes falling below 10°C (50°F) near the summit. Even though days remain warm, mornings and evenings can feel quite chilly, so we recommend bringing warm layers.
Come experience this beautiful seasonal transition at Hakuba Goryu. Nature's autumn spectacular awaits you.
