Join us for a early opening event to see rare alpine plants
In 2026, the Hakuba Goryu Alpine Botanical Garden will open for a special early season on selected weekends in June.
This is a rare and special opportunity to see alpine flowers up close that would already be past their peak by the time the regular season begins.
Early Opening Dates Saturday June 6th & Sunday June 7th Saturday June 13th & Sunday June 14th
Curator Guided Garden Walk
(Please note this guided tour is only done in Japanese)
Join one of our botanical curators for a guided tour of the garden, with expert commentary on the alpine plants in bloom. A wonderful way to deepen your connection with the mountain's natural world.
Dates: June 6 (Sat), 7 (Sun), 13 (Sat), 14 (Sun)
Time: From 10:00 (approx. 1 hour)
Capacity: 10 people per session
Fee: ¥1,000 per person (Elementary school and under: ¥500) — collected on the day Meeting Point: Alps-daira Square, Hakuba Goryu Alpine Botanical Garden (gondola summit plaza)
Reservations: Advance booking required (limited walk-in availability on the day)

The tour will proceed in rain (held indoors at the Visitor Centre if necessary).
May be cancelled in the event of severe weather such as typhoons.
Special Sale On Sunday June 7th and Sunday June 14th, delicious Sasa Dango (bamboo leaf rice cakes) from Otari Village will be on sale, a local treat not to be missed!

Please Note Shuttle bus information will be announced closer to the opening dates.
From Saturday June 20th, the garden enters its regular season and will be open daily until Sunday October 18th.
